The PO Directories for 1911-12 show that JRS was the Chief Clerk for the National Insurance Company of Great Britain and he lived at Hamilton Place, East Kilbride. The National Insurance Company of Great Britain was taken over by the Commercial Union which in turn became a part of Aviva. From the archives of Aviva, I have been sent the following: " Post Magazine October 1937 re reorganisation of the business in Scotland - "In Glasgow Mr Henry McMurray, at present accident superintendent, has been appointed manager of the three companies [Edinburgh Assurance, National of Great Britain, West of Scotland], with Mr J Robertson Sweet as agency manager and Mr George Latta as local secretary."
