Attended St Bride's School Helensburgh. Followed by Dunfermline College of Physi cal Education and became a teacher of PE. She taught in Govan to begin with an d organised Railway Caravan holidays in the summer for the "under priviliged " c hildren. On moving to Troon she taught part time at James Louden school and als o at Kilmarnock Academy in the later years of family life. She continued her cha ritable interest in children by being very involved in Dundonald House, a SSPC C home.

Moira was a very caring person carrying other people's worries. She never ha d a bad word to say about anyone and was "always there" for her family. She help ed her mother as best she could for some time while she was ill before she died.

She died in 1977 while on the golf course. Alistair McCrone once remarked to m e that she could have died of a broken heart. She was very active right to her l ast days.
