|In the Glasgow Postal Directory for 1904-05 (at least) there is an entry for John Sweet of J Sweet & Co grain and oatmeal agents and merchants with premises at 41 Robertson Street and a home at 4 Cromwell Square, Strathbungo. His father James Sweet ran the business prior to his death (I am assuming, as the firm is called James Sweet Grain Merchants)|

At 183 Clarkston Road, Cathcart- a house with two rooms with one or more windows
John Sweet Head aged 32 Married Occupation Clerk Tea Depot, worker born in England, Liverpool.
Mary L Sweet Wife aged 30 married for 4 years with 1 child born and 1 child living born in Lanark, Glasgow
Murial B Sweet daughter aged 1 1/2 born in Lanark, Glasgow
This is interesting as the census for his father has previously shown their birth as Lancashire, we now know this was in Liverpool. Also, at the time of their marriage he was a grain salesman in his father's firm (from the PO Directory) but he is now a tea depot clerk, so presumably his father's business expired after his death.
