|Clockmaker John Barr: |
PMS has a Grandfather clock which is an heirloom, it is referred to in Alexander Sweet’s will (1843-1921) Mary Wilson Dunn Sweet (Aunt Mary) had it in Craigshields, Skermorlie. When she died my Dad had the clock and it was he who told me that the clock was made by a member of the family.
The clock bears the plaque John Barr Pt Glasgow

not sure why D Whyte thinks there was a relationship other than the name and location.
Haven’t found anything firm to link Sweet to Barr
