Thomas' father registered the birth (28 Aug 1758) and was described as a Gardener in Nunraw and a witness was his Governor Mr McCormack
This is the George [P174] to whom Sweet Holm was bequeathed on 31 Oct 1758 from his father William. George is described (in a transcription which Russell had ) , formerly servant to Major Dalrymple, now gardener at Swinton, proceeding o n a disposition byWilliam Sweet gardener of Town Yetholm to the said George hi s youngest son. SRO REf RS 8216 registered in leaves 515 and 516 of the register .

I have since seen the original and it is 1758 which is the operative date, changed here but there will be many references to 1750. Russell's researcher transcribed this incorrectly.
